Express Cheer is thrilled to be an official Jr. DCC training facility for the DFW area! The program was founded and created to serve as a community outreach initiative, offering area youth, ages 5-12, the opportunity to be a part of the world class Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders organization and experience the thrill of being a DCC!
Each team will have the opportunity to perform at some of the same events as the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders!
Other appearances/performances may include The Dallas Christmas Parade, Frisco Holiday Parade, local sporting events, and MORE!

Marissa Phillips — DCC 2022-Current
Marissa is a 24 year old from Round Rock, TX who began her dance career at the age of 2 at her local studio, The Dance Spot. Growing up she danced competitively at Rise Dance Company until trying out to join her high school drill team, the Cedar Ridge Royalty. Marissa was a member of the team for 3 years and served as Captain for her junior and senior year. After graduation, Marissa followed in her older sister’s footsteps and attended Texas A&M University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Public Health and a minor in Business. During her time at A&M, she was also a member of the Aggie Dance Team & she served as Vice President of Panhellenic of her sorority, Delta Gamma.
After graduating college in 2022, Marissa took the leap of faith and moved to Dallas to audition for her dream team, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. She is now wrapping up her 3rd season as a DCC and plans to re-audition in the spring for year 4!
Outside of dance, Marissa is a dog mom, boutique owner and is getting married to the love of her life in June. She is passionate about helping others along in their dance journeys and encouraging girls to always follow their dreams. She looks forward to continuing to make an impact on the younger generation and to share her love for dance with others.
Zhenya Kolpakova Wood — DCC 2022-2024
Zhenya was born and raised in Dnipro, Ukraine, where she began her training as a professional rhythmic gymnast. In 2005, when her family relocated to the United States, she transitioned into dance. While pursuing her undergraduate and master’s degrees in Digital Visualization at Texas A&M University, Zhenya continued her dance education through the Dance Science program.
Following graduation, Zhenya joined “Urban,” a contemporary performing company in Dallas, where she was honored to be selected as the principal dancer for her third and fourth seasons. In 2022, she became a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, dancing with the squad for two seasons. Recently appearing on the Netflix docuseries ‘America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.’
Zhenya loves working with dance teams across Texas, choreographing and teaching team clinics, serving as faculty at summer intensives, and performing with production companies such as Metropolis, Black Haus Creative, and Eclipse Entertainment. In 2022, Zhenya launched her own baking company ‘Zhenya Bakes’, this venture allows her to express her passion for art and play a part in her customers’ special life moments.
Through every step of her journey, Zhenya is driven by a love for creativity and personal connection. She cherishes the opportunity to share her passions with others. As she looks ahead, Zhenya is excited to continue growing, creating, and making memories with the people and communities she holds dear.
